Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine degree.
  • ECFMG certificate if trained abroad.
  • Successfully completed an internship and residency program within the United States.
  • Board Certified.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Primary Care medical services to patients from birth to geriatrics at the Health Center in accordance with the usual and customary appointment schedule.
  • Examine, diagnose and treat patients.
  • Perform physical examinations and order appropriate laboratory testing.
  • Prescribe medication as needed and treat and follow a patient’s course of illness.
  • Treat wounds, lacerations and minor trauma.
  • Diagnose and treat medical problems.
  • Engage in preventative medicine techniques such as vaccinations and annual examinations.
  • Teach patients about the importance of healthy diets.
  • Provide personal and family counseling including personal and social illness such as alcohol and drug abuse, sexually transmitted diseases, HIV and AIDS.
