About The Position

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for an International Tax Manager to join the Legrand North America Team based in West Hartford, CT. This position has the flexibility to be either hybrid in West Hartford, CT or remote. This role reports to an International Senior Tax Manager. The successful candidate will possess strong overall tax technical skills and expertise with an established background in international and U.S. tax compliance as well as experience in tax planning and transfer pricing. The role will have significant interaction with other members of the Tax team, Corporate Controllers, the finance organization and business operations. Accordingly, the ability to work with both internal and external business partners is a key skill.

Requirements

  • Required Education: Bachelors degree in Taxation or Accounting is required. A Masters Degree or CPA is preferred.
  • Required Experience: 6 + years of progressive direct tax experience, including international compliance.
  • Strong technical understanding of US tax reform international tax issues, including related compliance.
  • Strong skills and experience with U.S. federal and international tax planning.
  • Experience with transfer pricing.
  • Must be detail oriented, organized thinker with strong accounting, analytical and follow up skills.
  • Must be Team oriented, self-motivated, willing to take ownership of projects and to roll up your sleeves and get involved in details when needed.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of personnel, across functions, companies and with external contacts.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Experience: International experience with a balance of US international compliance and reporting, transfer pricing and tax planning.
  • Balanced experience with tax return compliance including both U.S. international and federal, with some state experience preferred.
  • Multinational corporate manufacturing experience, with Big 4 background a plus.
  • Experience with Thomson Reuters One Source a plus.
  • Experience with Alteryx a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage portfolio of subsidiaries and provide guidance and feedback to team members.
  • Prepare the calculations for international tax compliance of US tax return (e.g., Forms 5471,5472, 1118, 8858, 8865, 8991, 8992, 8993), including E&P, Subpart F, GILTI, FDII, BEAT, FTC limitation, etc.
  • Review standalone and consolidated federal and state income tax returns for portfolio subsidiaries.
  • Prepare and review international tax provisions, including Journal entries and supporting documentation, under both local accounting and IFRS.
  • Research and interpret relevant international tax laws, treaties, and regulations.
  • Manage and maintain inventory of foreign filings including tax returns, transfer pricing / Local Files, financial statements, CbCR and Pillar 2.
  • Assist with transfer pricing calculations, including the review and maintenance of transfer pricing documentation, and other reporting processes including analysis, invoicing, reconciliation, and coordination with Finance.
  • Support and assist with CbCR and Pillar 2 requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and developmental feedback by mentoring staff and reviewing work prepared by team members.
  • Manage a team of tax analysts and senior tax analysts.
  • Perform other similar and related duties as required with minimal supervision.
