Currently there is an exciting opportunity for an International Space Station Flight Controller - ADCO/POINTING/GNC to join the Barrios team at Johnson Space Center, Houston, TX. The International Space Station Flight Controller - ADCO/POINTING/GNC supports the Guidance, Navigation, and Control aspects of our human spaceflight programs. In support of the International Space Station, an individual will train and certify as either an Attitude Determination and Control Officer (ADCO) and serve as a technical expert for the International Space Station (ISS) Motion Control Systems (MCS) or Pointing flight controller, performing attitude control or line of sight calculations and predictions for the International Space Station (ISS) and Artemis Programs. ADCO Flight Controllers are responsible working in a partnership with Russian controllers to determine and manage the station's orientation, controlled by the on-board MCS. This position is responsible for planning and calculating future attitudes and maneuvers for the station and is responsible for docking the ISS with other spacecraft. Additional certifications in support of Commercial Crew Vehicles and Artemis lunar programs are possible to obtain. ADCO and Navigation Flight Controllers work in the Mission Control Center (MCC) at Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston Texas. These individuals are also responsible for training astronauts, and flight controller peers on spacecraft GNC systems. Personnel will be expected to complete NASA led flight controller and instructor certifications for this area of expertise. Individuals in this position will support evening, night, and weekend shifts. This position interfaces directly with the NASA customer, subcontractors and international partners and are expected to have an awareness of the company's competitive position and the impact of failing to meet schedule or quality requirements.
