  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and experience with logistics procurement tools like Ariba and Jaeggar.
  • Logistics Knowledge: Strong understanding of Incoterms, international shipping documentation, and multi-modal transport regulations.
  • Communication: Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to convey complex logistics solutions to both internal teams and external clients.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CRM and TMS (Transportation Management System) platforms.
  • Knowledge of 2026 trade policies, tariff fluctuations, and global supply chain dynamics.
  • Self-starter, self-motivated, resourceful and responsive
  • Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, set priorities, organize work, and implement action plans

Responsibilities

  • Quoting & Procurement Excellence
  • RFP & Rate Management: Lead the response for Request for Proposals (RFPs) by gathering internal operational data and external market rates to furnish comprehensive bids.
  • Multi-Modal Pricing: Source and execute competitive pricing for air, ocean (NVOCC), drayage, transload, Full Truckload (FTL), and Less-than-Truckload (LTL) services.
  • Spot & Recurring Rates: Manage high-volume spot quote requests with urgency while maintaining and updating recurring rate sheets for long-term contract clients.
  • Vendor Negotiation: Negotiate with carriers and international freight forwarders to secure optimal capacity and pricing, leveraging current 2026 market trends.
  • Reporting & Analytics
  • Financial Visibility: Support the development of financial reports using Descartes IES Oneview, SalesForce, and other online tools to track freight spend, audit invoices, and identify cost-saving drivers.
  • Customer Dashboards: Create and maintain advanced Excel-based tracking sheets and KPIs to provide customers with end-to-end shipment visibility.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor industry indexes (e.g., Cass Freight Index) to provide sales teams with intelligence on rate volatility and capacity shifts.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
