About The Position

The International Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with U.S. Import/Export regulations while managing the export department. This role involves applying Good Manufacturing Principles, mentoring staff, and developing processes related to international logistics. The manager will serve as a resource for operational issues and will coordinate the synchronization of import/export requirements across the organization.

Requirements

  • Diploma/GED plus relevant experience required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5-7 years of related experience in the Pharmaceutical industry or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of international commerce, duties and taxes, VAT payment terms, customs regulations, and international supply chain processes
  • Detail-oriented
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Experience as import/export coordinators and international transportation planners
  • Mastery of skills required to read, understand, and adhere to the SOPs and policies of a GMP environment

Responsibilities

  • Apply Good Manufacturing Principles in all areas of responsibility
  • Demonstrate and promote the company vision
  • Ensure compliance with International and U.S. laws related to Import/Export activity
  • Serve as a resource for all import/export/duty/tax operational issues and questions
  • Assist in coordinating the global synchronization and regular review of import/export/duty/tax requirements and compliance methodologies
  • Manage, motivate, and develop employees and staff in the export department
  • Review and approve Import invoices and complete USDA permits as applicable
  • Obtain FDA Release documentation
  • Write and implement processes, standards, templates, and training documents for international export
  • Include staff in planning, decision-making, facilitating, and process improvement
  • Provide regular performance feedback and improve processes, products, and services
  • Identify user needs and direct building of teams across all levels of the organization
  • Mentor team and individuals in the organization to support employee development plans
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
