About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and motivated International Casualty Senior Broker to support and advance casualty placements for U.S.-based clients with global exposures. This mid‑level role requires solid technical knowledge, strong market awareness, and the ability to collaborate effectively across international teams to deliver high‑quality broking solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; advanced degree or industry designations (e.g., CPCU, ARM) preferred
  • 4–10+ years of experience in underwriting or broking international casualty placements for U.S.-based clients
  • Demonstrated success leading complex placements and negotiating with global markets
  • Exceptional communication, advisory, and relationship‑building skills
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative, and globally connected environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience mentoring or guiding junior team members is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a strong understanding of carrier appetite, capabilities, emerging trends, and global market dynamics impacting international casualty programs for U.S. clients.
  • Support negotiations with domestic and international markets to secure competitive terms, conditions, and pricing on behalf of Howden’s internal and external clients.
  • Contribute to the design and execution of placement strategies, bringing forward thoughtful structuring ideas and differentiated market approaches during new business and renewal cycles.
  • Apply and advise on risk financing concepts—including captives, alternative risk structures, and multinational program design—while supporting the broader strategic direction of the Casualty practice.
  • Partner closely with the Multinational Servicing team, the HowdenOne network, and global Casualty colleagues to ensure seamless execution and governance across multinational programs.
  • Build and share knowledge on Howden’s international capabilities, the HowdenOne Network, and country‑specific considerations that influence casualty placements.
  • Collaborate with and support junior team members as needed, contributing to a culture of quality, learning, and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in client meetings, strategic discussions, and market engagements to reinforce Howden’s position as a trusted global advisor.
