About The Position

Olsson has a job opportunity available to work directly with one of the world's largest technology companies. This multi-year project will be at a confidential job site in Council Bluffs, IA . As a International Building Code Inspector / Construction Manager, you would be responsible for a complex data center construction project, managing and overseeing the quality of construction at the project site. In this role you will act as a quality assurance manager representing the owner with regards to all construction activities. Duties include tracking that special inspections are being completed, overseeing RFIs and submittals, attendance at project meetings and provide verification overall that the quality documentation of the project is being completed per the owners' requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in International Building Code (IBC) inspections, which will be crucial for success in this position.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • 5 or more years' experience in either IBC inspections, observation, or special inspections.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and codes.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving history.
  • Schedule flexibility.

Nice To Haves

  • International Building Code (IBC) certifications preferred.
  • Associate's degree in a construction related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the quality assurance program at the project site.
  • Reads and interprets plans and specifications at various stages of a project.
  • Initiates actions needed to keep construction progress on schedule.
  • Solves on-site problems and situations regarding construction of the project and design modifications.
  • Works in all types of terrain and weather conditions on project sites in various stages of construction.
  • Identifies and avoids potential hazards for workers and the public in and around project sites.
