About The Position

ECU Health Edgecombe Hospital is a full-service, 117-bed acute care facility where residents of Tarboro and the surrounding communities can receive a wide range of health services close to home. As part of the ECU Health system of care, the hospital offers high quality care provided by more than 20 medical specialists, rehabilitation services, a birthing center, a cancer center, outpatient clinics and more. Responsible to provide care in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice and other standards established by profession/professional groups, regulating bodies/agents. Nursing care will be delivered in accordance with ECU Health and entity specific nursing policies, procedures and professional standards of care/practice. Responsible for the provision and coordination of nursing care to include the collection and analysis of assessment data, identification of expected outcomes and development of plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and other interdisciplinary team members. Identifies interventions to attain expected outcomes, implements the interventions identified in the plan of care, evaluates the progress of the patient/family toward attainment of outcomes, and documents the process. This care includes sensitivity to age specific and unique needs of the patient/family. Promotes and evaluates the effective functioning of the health care team. Collaborates with health care team members to meet the identified needs of the patient/family throughout the episode of care. Delegates tasks and activities as appropriate and governed by NC Nurse Practice Act. We are looking for experienced nurses to join the Travel Staffing team at ECU Health Edgecombe Hospital a full service 101 bed hospital in Tarboro, a growing community centrally located among eastern North Carolina's metropolitan areas, waterways and beaches. Opportunities are available in all inpatient units based on need- Medicine, Emergency, Critical Care, Surgery, Operative Services, Oncology, Women's & Children's, Cardiac and Progressive Care (PCU). Travel team members are expected to: Float to other areas as needed Work shifts that are based on each individual unit's needs (may include 11 a.m.-11 p.m., 7 a.m.-7 p.m., 3 p.m.-3 a.m., 7 p.m.-7 a.m. and/or other shifts as determined by organizational needs) Adhere to required attendance of unit staff meetings, completion of e-inform modules, and completion of required organizational continuing education Use the scheduling system to manage their schedule, including non-duty/time-off requests Have ACLS as appropriate (required for intensive or progressive care) Not be currently employed by ECU Health or be separated for 92 days, having left in good standing Organizational policies will be applicable to internal travel team members, notwithstanding Internal Travel Staffing specifications included within each assignment acknowledgement

Requirements

  • Diploma in Nursing, Associates in Nursing or higher
  • Greater than 1 year of nursing experience is required
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification is required
  • Flexibility in scheduling to meet the twenty four (24) hour needs of the patients
  • Possess organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to utilize effective and confidential communication in patient, interdisciplinary, and staff relationships
  • Maintains stable performance levels under conditions of pressure and multiple demands
  • Working knowledge and experience with PC-based applications
  • Not be currently employed by ECU Health or be separated for 92 days, having left in good standing
