We are hiring experienced nurses for Trauma/Surgical Services Internal Travel assignments at our Level I Trauma Center in Greenville, NC. Greenville is widely recognized as the thriving cultural, educational, economic, and medical hub of eastern North Carolina and is the 10th largest city in the state with a metropolitan population of nearly 100,000.   • Provide care in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice and other standards established by profession/professional groups.
  • Deliver nursing care in accordance with ECU Health and entity specific nursing policies, procedures and professional standards of care/practice.
  • Provide and coordinate nursing care including the collection and analysis of assessment data, identification of expected outcomes and development of plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and other interdisciplinary team members.
  • Identify interventions to attain expected outcomes, implement the interventions identified in the plan of care, evaluate the progress of the patient/family toward attainment of outcomes, and document the process.
  • Promote and evaluate the effective functioning of the health care team.
  • Collaborate with health care team members to meet the identified needs of the patient/family throughout the episode of care.
  • Delegate tasks and activities as appropriate and governed by NC Nurse Practice Act.
  • Diploma in Nursing, Associates in Nursing or higher.
  • Bachelor Degree is preferred.
  • Greater than 1 year of nursing experience is required.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification is required.
  • Flexibility in scheduling to meet the twenty four (24) hour needs of the patients.
  • Possess organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to utilize effective and confidential communication in patient, interdisciplinary, and staff relationships.
  • Maintains stable performance levels under conditions of pressure and multiple demands.
  • Working knowledge and experience with PC-based applications.
  • ACLS certification as appropriate (required for intensive or progressive care).
  • Base pay - up to $70/hour for all internal travel nursing positions.
  • Additional compensation: 1.5x base hourly rate for overtime (over 40 hours per week) and holiday pay, $3.00/hour for stand-by pay, and $2.00/hour for charge/preceptor pay.
