ECU Health Medical Center, one of four academic medical centers in North Carolina, is the 974-bed flagship hospital for ECU Health and serves as the primary teaching hospital for The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. ECU Health Medical Center has achieved Magnet designation twice and provides acute and intermediate care, rehabilitation and outpatient health services to a 29-county region that is home to more than 1.4 million people. We are hiring experienced nurses across all specialty areas for travel assignments within the central staffing pool at ECU Health Medical Center, our Level I trauma center in Greenville. All opportunities have a base pay rate of up to $70.00/hr.

  • Provide care in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act and American Nurses Association Standards of Practice.
  • Deliver nursing care in accordance with ECU Health and entity specific nursing policies, procedures and professional standards of care/practice.
  • Collect and analyze assessment data, identify expected outcomes, and develop a plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and other interdisciplinary team members.
  • Identify interventions to attain expected outcomes and implement the interventions identified in the plan of care.
  • Evaluate the progress of the patient/family toward attainment of outcomes and document the process.
  • Promote and evaluate the effective functioning of the health care team.
  • Collaborate with health care team members to meet the identified needs of the patient/family throughout the episode of care.
  • Delegate tasks and activities as appropriate and governed by NC Nurse Practice Act.
  • Diploma in Nursing, Associates in Nursing or higher.
  • Bachelor Degree is preferred.
  • Greater than 1 year of nursing experience is required.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification is required.
  • Flexibility in scheduling to meet the twenty four (24) hour needs of the patients.
  • Possess organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to utilize effective and confidential communication in patient, interdisciplinary, and staff relationships.
  • Maintain stable performance levels under conditions of pressure and multiple demands.
  • Working knowledge and experience with PC-based applications.
  • Base pay: up to $70 per hour for all travel nursing positions.
  • 1.5x base hourly rate for overtime (over 40 hours) and holiday pay.
  • Additional $3.00 per hour for Stand-by pay.
  • Additional $2.00 per hour for Charge/preceptor pay.
