We are hiring experienced nurses for medical and surgical oncology internal travel assignments at the Eddie and Jo Allison Smith Tower at ECU Health Medical Center, our Level I Trauma Center in Greenville, NC. All opportunities have a base pay of up to $70.00/hr. ECU Health is a mission-driven, 1,708-bed academic health care system serving more than 1.4 million people in 29 eastern North Carolina counties.   • Provide care in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice and other standards established by profession/professional groups, regulating bodies/agents.
  • Deliver nursing care in accordance with ECU Health and entity specific nursing policies, procedures and professional standards of care/practice.
  • Provide and coordinate nursing care including the collection and analysis of assessment data, identification of expected outcomes and development of plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and other interdisciplinary team members.
  • Identify interventions to attain expected outcomes, implement the interventions identified in the plan of care, evaluate the progress of the patient/family toward attainment of outcomes, and document the process.
  • Promote and evaluate the effective functioning of the health care team.
  • Collaborate with health care team members to meet the identified needs of the patient/family throughout the episode of care.
  • Delegate tasks and activities as appropriate and governed by NC Nurse Practice Act.
  • Diploma in Nursing, Associates in Nursing or higher.
  • Bachelor Degree is preferred.
  • Greater than 1 year of nursing experience is required.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification is required.
  • Flexibility in scheduling to meet the twenty four (24) hour needs of the patients.
  • Possess organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to utilize effective and confidential communication in patient, interdisciplinary, and staff relationships.
  • Maintain stable performance levels under conditions of pressure and multiple demands.
  • Working knowledge and experience with PC-based applications.
  • ACLS certification as appropriate (required for intensive or progressive care).
  • Base pay - up to $70/hour for all internal travel nursing positions.
  • Additional compensation: 1.5x base hourly rate for overtime (over 40 hours per week) and holiday pay, $3.00/hour for stand-by pay, and $2.00/hour for charge/preceptor pay.
