Responsibilities

• Lead a team of internal organizers for the janitorial sector.
• Develop strategies and programs for the janitorial sector of 4,000 members.
• Supervise front-line organizers and brigades.
• Build a network of worksite leaders and member-activists.
• Develop a member leadership program and train rank-and-file leaders.
• Recruit and mentor new stewards, leaders, and activists.
• Engage in one-on-one persuasion and motivation of workers.
• Design and distribute meeting notices, flyers, and newsletters.
• Maintain organizing lists and databases.
• Plan and coordinate grievances, meetings, and public actions.
• Mobilize membership for community, political, and union events.
• Lead the development of campaigns to further member interests.
