About The Position

The LVN I (Bilingual) position at Kaiser Permanente involves providing nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician. Requirements

  • Current LVN license in California.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Experience in a clinical setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of nursing care principles and practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR).
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Knowledge of infection control procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Uphold Kaiser Permanente's Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities, and applicable laws.
  • Perform patient care functions as prescribed by healthcare professionals, considering age-related needs.
  • Assist medical personnel with special procedures and minor surgical procedures.
  • Assess and monitor patients' conditions and notify healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed by physician orders.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies, identifying and arranging for repairs as necessary.
  • Apply principles of aseptic technique and infection control as directed.
  • Monitor patient flow and assign/direct ancillary personnel as needed.
  • Provide medical information and education to patients following established protocols.
  • Document pertinent patient information and nursing procedures according to protocols.
  • Explain the purpose and process of examinations and tests to patients.
  • Instruct patients on general health and self-care procedures.
  • Review and clarify physician orders with patients.
  • Administer first aid and apply basic orthopedic devices as ordered.
  • Execute treatments such as urinary catheterization and suction procedures.
  • Initiate emergency procedures and provide emergency patient treatments.
  • Lift patients and monitor vital signs.
  • Transport patients and specimens as needed.
  • Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments and maintain department logs.
