About The Position

Requirements

• Must hold or be able to obtain a valid and unrestricted medical license from the State of California.
• Completed an accredited residency program in Internal Medicine.
• Certified/maintain certification with the American Board of Internal Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine Physicians.
• 3-5 years of Internal Medicine education and/or administrative experience, preferably in a leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a commitment to Residency Education and support institutional and program mission and aims.
• Ensure continuing accreditation of the program by complying with ACGME requirements and policies.
• Develop and improve a high-quality Internal Medicine curriculum that meets various accreditation standards.
• Mentor teaching faculty and monitor their academic performance and effectiveness.
• Conduct annual performance reviews of faculty and develop a faculty development program.
• Recruit and retain a high-caliber resident body committed to excellence in patient care.
• Cultivate a psychologically safe working environment for residents.
• Manage the residency budget and understand funding sources related to the program.
• Establish and maintain educational liaisons with community and academic institutions.
• Coordinate faculty development and resident training with other institutions.
