About The Position

Beacon Veterinary Specialists is seeking two dedicated and experienced Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVT/VTS) to join our dynamic Internal Medicine team. In this role, you will work side-by-side with a board-certified Internist in a collaborative team environment to provide exceptional patient care and client service through diagnostics, treatments, and follow-up care. We are offering a $3,000 to 8,000 signing bonus and/or relocation assistance! Requirements

  • Registered Veterinary Technician in California or eligible to transfer current license to California
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in Small Animal Internal Medicine department. Minimum of 5 years experience for the Senior RVT role.
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Technology from accredited AVMA program
  • Strong technical skills in sample/diagnostic collection, complex intravenous catheter placement, feeding tube maintenance
  • Ability to calculate nutritional requirements, fluid ins/outs, urine output, and constant rate of infusion (CRIs)
  • Compassionate towards people and animals
  • Organized with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage time effectively
  • Proficient in developing and implementing high-risk anesthesia protocols (Senior RVT)
  • Comfortable delegating tasks and directing others (Senior RVT)
  • Comfortable performing and monitoring advanced anesthetic procedures
  • Hands-on experience with endoscopy procedures, including bronchoscopy, rhinoscopy, upper and lower gastrointestinal tract, and urogenital endoscopy
  • Advanced knowledge of diagnostic procedures and sampling techniques including bone marrow aspiration, endocrine testing, and gastrointestinal function testing

Responsibilities

  • Organize and assist with all technical aspects of veterinary care and procedures for the day
  • Complete scheduled technician appointments including maintaining accurate medical record documentation and communication with supervising veterinarian
  • Support diagnostic ultrasound appointments by preparing patients, assisting with positioning, and ensuring accurate imaging
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide additional nursing care to hospitalized IM patients
  • Monitor and manage anesthesia for a variety of complex internal medicine procedures
  • Collect and process samples for diagnostic laboratory analysis
  • Educate clients on pre- and post-procedure care and medication administration
  • Assist supervisors with feedback, instruction, and follow-up to staff
  • Support rounds during shift changes
  • Ensure all documentation and patient charges are accurate, complete, and follow hospital policy
  • Provide information to Clinical Services Supervisors, Client Services Manager, and Clinical Services Manager regarding client and department concerns
