About The Position

MercyOne is seeking a BC/BE Internal Medicine Physician to join in its expansion into the Newton, Iowa market. Enjoy a low cost of living and a great quality of life in proximity to Iowa's Capitol city. The position involves traditional Internal Medicine clinical services (Inpatient/Outpatient) with an instant volume and being the only IM Physician in the community due to physician retirement. The daily inpatient census is expected to be around 10 patients, with an anticipated clinic daily volume of 15-20 patients. Outpatient call only is required, as the system covers night inpatient coverage. Inpatient procedures include Thoracentesis, Paracentesis, wound/abscess drainage, steroid injections, and central line placement. The role also involves skilled and hospice patient admissions (H&P), with 22% of the population being age 60 and older.

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
• Ability to work in both inpatient and outpatient settings
• Experience with inpatient procedures

Responsibilities
