We are currently recruiting for an Infectious Disease Physician to work with our Ryan White and adult medicine population.

Requirements

  • Medical degree in medicine from an accredited school and licensed to practice in Connecticut.
  • Two-year fellowship in infectious diseases.
  • Minimum two years of direct patient care.
  • Current D.E.A. and State Controlled Substance Certificate.
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
  • Malpractice Eligible.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR).
  • Final certification exam through the ABIM upon completion of 2-year fellowship in infectious diseases.
  • CPR certification required upon hire and recertification bi-annually.

Responsibilities

  • Specializes in the prevention and treatment of communicable diseases.
  • Ensures proper disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.
  • Consults with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment.
  • Recommends and orders tests to determine extent of illness or help diagnose condition.
  • Consult with primary care physician.
  • Documents all services in patient medical record.
  • Consults with Chief Medical Officer and other professionals on staff as needed regarding patient care, assessment, and education issues.
  • Comply with the Infection Control plan which includes personally utilizing universal precautions. Ensure compliance by support staff.
  • Participates in quality improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs established by the hospital or clinic requirements.
  • Participates in Peer Review and directs review of HIV patient's medical care.
