About The Position

The University of Central Florida / HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital Internal Medicine Residency Program is seeking candidates for a Chief Resident Position starting the 2025 academic year. The chief resident shall function under the supervision of the internal medicine residency program director and will develop administrative skills appropriate to the residency to act as a liaison to residents. During the academic year, the chief resident will develop his/her personal leadership style, learn the complexities of conflict negotiation and resolution, and gain understanding of institutional administrative policies.

Requirements

• Be a graduate of an ACGME-accredited internal medicine residency program
• Have the ability to obtain Florida medical licensure
• Must be able and willing to establish and maintain effective working relationships

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Perform high-level decision-making
• Oversee residents, interns, and medical students in various ways including schedules, lectures, curriculum, research, quality improvement, and simulation lab exercises
