The Supervisor Operations for Internal Delivery System (IDS) is responsible to sustain the proper execution of material delivery processes among warehouse, storeroom, and production areas of a catering unit. The Supervisor, IDS, also leads the IS team in the operation and ensures that they are properly staffed, trained, and scheduled to meet the demands of the unit’s internal customers. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Gathers data and information to ensure the Plan for Every Part database and actual inventory locations are accurate and up to date. Works with the IDS, inventory and production teams implementing menu cycle changes and storage location updates. Ensures that the IDS team members are assigned to each task and monitors their work and routines looking to constantly improve the process. Monitors delivery routes and delivery frequency for stored airline equipment, disposable airline equipment, dry, cold, and frozen stores for improvement, required changes and updating. Works with IDS team to refine/re-define bin quantities, drop zones, and other delivery system attributes based on production requirements. Manages stored airline equipment inventories (sending back and accountable for defining needs and ordering). Monitors variance of materials consumed against sales and recommends actions to reduce variance. Generates Emergency Requisitions and follows up on corrective actions progress as directed by IDS manager. Assist manager in delivery system staffing weekly and manages productivity of IDS staff. Monitors and analyzes customer service incidences (I.F.B.L. through the entire IDS flow). Optimizes resources in the department through process improvement, lean and continuous improvement principles (e.g. minimize transportation motion). Accountable for proper maintenance and daily regrouping of IDS equipment. Ensures compliance with company Wage & Hour policy, including ensuring employees get the rest & meal breaks and ensuring company processes are followed. Trains and monitors employees on proper work procedures to ensure maximum productivity with minimum labor and food expenses. Monitors daily manpower planning and schedules employees. Responsible for employee retention and reducing employee turnover. Responsible for coaching, counseling and preparing corrective actions for employees in compliance with the applicable union/collective bargaining agreement(s). Reviews and ensures employees in chain of command are in correct cost centers and correct job titles. Reviews and ensures union represented employees’ pay rates are correct based on wage scales and seniority.
