About The Position

The Internal Communications Specialist serves as a strategic partner to leaders across the organization by independently developing and guiding internal communication strategies that support business objectives, change management, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness. This role evaluates communication needs, exercises discretion in message development and delivery, and advises senior leaders on effective internal communication approaches aligned with the company’s strategic direction and culture. The position reports to the Senior Director of People & Culture and operates with a high degree of autonomy in planning, prioritization, and execution. Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion when advising leaders on communication strategies and organizational messaging.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to evaluate complex information and translate it into effective communication approaches.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority and partner with senior leaders across the organization.
  • Proven experience managing competing priorities and making informed decisions related to messaging, timing, and delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Independently assess organizational priorities and business initiatives to design and execute comprehensive internal communication strategies that support adoption, engagement, and change management outcomes.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders by shaping messaging, recommending communication approaches, and ensuring alignment with leadership voice, priorities, and company strategy.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment in determining communication methods, channels, timing, and content to effectively reach diverse internal audiences.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of internal communication frameworks, tools, and processes to enhance clarity, consistency, and organizational impact.
  • Establish and manage an enterprise-wide communication calendar, balancing competing priorities and determining appropriate sequencing and cadence of messaging.
  • Provide strategic communication guidance across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, engagement surveys, recognition programs, cultural initiatives, and organizational change efforts.
  • Identify emerging communication needs and proactively recommend solutions that address organizational challenges or opportunities.
