About The Position

Smokin’ Jack’s BBQ is a multi-location restaurant, catering, and food truck company . We are looking for a detail-oriented Internal Bookkeeper to help organize finances, track spending, and support day-to-day operations. This is a hands-on role working directly with ownership and managers — not corporate accounting or tax preparation.
Schedule Part Time – 20-30 hours per week Flexible hours (some remote after training) Pay $20 – $28 per hour (based on experience) Bonus Opportunities Available

Requirements

• 2+ years bookkeeping experience
• Strong QuickBooks knowledge (required)
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Comfortable communicating with staff and vendors
• Excel or Google Sheets familiarity
• Ability to work independently
• Accounting degree not required — restaurant experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Enter and categorize transactions in QuickBooks
• Weekly bank and credit card reconciliations
• Maintain accounts payable & receivable
• Prepare weekly and monthly financial summaries
• Maintain organized financial records
• Reconcile POS sales to deposits
• Track catering deposits and balances
• Monitor food cost, labor %, and spending trends
• Identify errors, missing invoices, or unusual expenses
• Provide weekly financial reporting to ownership
• Collect invoices from all locations
• Communicate with vendors about billing and pricing
• Prevent duplicate charges and subscription waste
• Track recurring expenses and payment schedules
• Maintain location budgets
• Alert ownership to overspending
• Build and manage staff schedules
• Track projected payroll cost
