About The Position

The Finance and Accounting Intern works closely with the CFO, Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis, and Controller and is responsible for assisting the department with activities related to various accounting and finance projects, vendor management maintenance, and assisting with research and reporting related to daily and monthly reconciliations and compiling detailed journal entry support.

Requirements

• Above average to strong skills in Microsoft Office products especially Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Strong personal motivation and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a deadline driven environment.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in hands-on training with department personnel to assist in the completion of various periodic tasks and analysis.
• Lead the compilation, analysis, and presentation of a financial data analysis project pertaining to the department’s current needs.
• Understand general accepted accounting principles and concepts and apply these principles in real-world scenarios.
• Prepare journal entry support using multiple systems and tools.
• Learn and assist in Excel modeling, Power Query, and FP&A product implementation.
• Analyze and assist in the development of a process for vendor analysis and non-interest expense tracking against budget.
• Other financial reporting and analysis as needed.
