About The Position

Rycon Construction is an employee-owned company (ESOP) that provides construction management, general contracting, and design-build services nationwide. An ENR Top 400 Contractor, ENR Top 100 Green Contractor, and BD+C Top 150 Contractor with nine offices, Rycon specializes in new construction, renovations, and adaptive reuse projects. From large-scale developments to small, fast-track interior fit-outs, Rycon is equipped to deliver a comprehensive range of services across all project types. Rycon’s portfolio includes projects in healthcare, higher education, industrial/warehouse, commercial, multi-unit residential, food service/dining, retail, financial, self-storage, governmental, and LEED facilities. We have an in-house Architectural Woodwork & Specialty Fabrication Division that ships/installs nationally. We are seeking an Intern at our Pittsburgh office. What you will do: Work closely with the estimating, marketing, and operations departments and staff Attend pre bid meetings and site visits Work with team to develop estimates and respond to bids and proposals for existing and new clients Make phone calls and email to trade subcontractors for scope and proposal reviews Quantity take offs and develop scopes of work from drawings and specifications Attend in person and onsite meetings Other tasks as needed for operations and estimating departments What you will need to be successful: Current enrollment in a relevant degree program (Construction Management, Civil Engineering, etc.) is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with construction-related software (e.g., AutoCAD, Bluebeam) is a plus.
