About The Position

An intern is needed to assist in the development and implementation of a Quality-of-Life Work Group in District Four . This initiative is modeled after the former city-wide work group and is intended to address key issues impacting residents across the district through structured research, engagement, and collaboration. The proposed work group will focus on the following priority areas: Student and Property Owner Relations Development of a Vacant Property Database Affordable Housing Illegal Construction Code Enforcement and Park Enforcement The intern will play a vital role in supporting both research and community engagement efforts. Specifically, the intern will assist the District 4 Team with the following responsibilities: Facilitating Community Focus Groups: Assist in organizing and supporting focus groups to gather resident input and feedback on identified priority areas. Coordinating Resident Participation: Support outreach efforts to encourage residents to participate in issue-specific committees aligned with each focus area. Supporting Monthly Committee Meetings: Assist with the coordination, documentation, and follow-up of monthly meetings for each committee to ensure continuity and progress. Conducting Research and Data Collection: Compile relevant data, identify best practices, and support the development of tools such as a vacant property database. Final Report Preparation: Assist in the development of a comprehensive final report, to be completed by December 2026 , which will outline key findings, recommendations, and actionable strategies. The report will be presented to the broader community. This initiative is designed to strengthen community engagement, improve responsiveness to resident concerns, and develop sustainable, data-informed solutions to enhance the overall quality of life in District 4. This is a paid internship. $20.00 - undergraduates and $25.00 for graduates. Please apply at www.collegeparkmd.gov . Both a cover letter and a resume are required.
