About The Position

Focusing on the insurance business, the Accounting and Finance Intern would be assisting with all aspects of the accounting and reporting and the preparation of various components of the company’s financial reporting packages based on US GAAP and Statutory requirements. The accounting and reporting responsibilities of the role include balance sheet account reconciliations, month-end general ledger close procedures, and SOX compliance related activities.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and terms.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Previous internship or work experience in accounting is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of profit and loss statements, forecast models, and other financial reports.
• Preparation and analysis of supporting schedules for journal entries in a controlled and timely manner.
• Participate in the development and maintenance of a chart of accounts and general ledger as well as company accounting policy and administer approved accounting procedures.
• Assist in the create various financial analysis and present findings to managers and/or executives.
