About The Position

This internship involves performing risk and vulnerability remediation and mitigation on end-user computing devices. The intern will plan, install, and support various ETS equipment, including workstations, printers, servers, routers, switches, and emergency power systems. The role requires the ability to perform complex tasks with broad latitude and scope. This is a year-round, flexible internship that can be full or part-time, depending on the intern's school schedule. A key requirement is that candidates must be currently enrolled in college-level courses or a degree-seeking program throughout the duration of the internship. Candidates are required to upload their transcripts as part of the application process.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in college-level courses or a degree-seeking program throughout the duration of the internship.
  • Ability to document and apply policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Minor experience in presenting technical solutions and/or recommendations.
  • Novice knowledge of technical inter-relationships between software/hardware and desktop/Host systems.
  • Novice skill in diagnosing and troubleshooting issues.
  • Demonstrated organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Basic understanding of research frameworks.
  • Possesses verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Qualified degree program in Business Administration, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM).

Responsibilities

  • Perform risk and vulnerability remediation and mitigation on end-user computing devices.
  • Plan, install, and support ETS equipment including workstations, printers, servers, routers, switches, and emergency power systems.
  • Serve as the initial contact for vulnerability-related issues and answer questions regarding software/hardware vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair computer systems, hardware, and peripherals for vulnerability remediation.
  • Conduct remote and in-person vulnerability remediation and troubleshooting.
  • Perform monthly patch remediation on non-compliant workstations.
  • Document vulnerability remediation efforts within NFCU's IT Service Management tool (ServiceNow) and track escalations.
  • Resolve vulnerability tickets and troubleshoot non-patch related vulnerabilities on workstations.
  • Patch workstations and perform patch remediation to ensure compliance with current patch versions.
  • Interface with vendors to facilitate vulnerability remediation efforts.
  • Evaluate opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness in vulnerability management.
