About The Position

Interns at Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines & Horizon Air join teams throughout different departments and work on visible projects that impact our guests and business. Beyond hands-on experience, interns also get the opportunity to network with fellow employees and company leaders through various intern events and programming. Our interns also receive unlimited standby travel benefits during their internship, which means that many weekends are filled with jet setting across our growing network. This internship is for summer 2026. Our internships are full-time for 12 weeks, and we offer two program timelines to align with different academic calendars. This internship will be located in SeaTac, WA or Honolulu, HI. If not already in the internship city, candidates will be required to relocate for the duration of the internship. Candidates will be asked to note their preferred location at time of application.

Requirements

  • Working toward a Bachelors degree with a focus in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and have at least one semester or quarter of school remaining after the internship.
  • Must have achieved a junior or higher academic standing at the time of application.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship, academic project, or coursework related to supply chain, procurement, or material management.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) or databases.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and across multiple stakeholders.
  • Interest in aviation, aerospace, or transportation industries.
  • Exposure to project management concepts or tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Smartsheet).

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and organizing a combined vendor matrix by gathering, validating, and analyzing supplier data across Hawaiian and Alaska portfolios.
  • Support the VPM team in preparing scorecards, dashboards, and reporting tools to measure supplier performance in areas such as on-time delivery, quality, cost, and service.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings (e.g., Supply Chain, Procurement, Maintenance & Engineering) to capture updates on vendor performance and integration-related action items.
  • Contribute to the creation of standardized documentation and templates (e.g., EBR/QBR materials, vendor profiles) to support consistency across the combined organization.
  • Perform research and benchmarking on industry best practices for vendor performance management, supporting process improvement and innovation.
