About The Position

Under direct supervision, uses basic knowledge and skills obtained through education to obtain on-the-job training experience in the areas of Health Promotion and Obesity Prevention, Substance Misuse Prevention, Education & Workforce Development, or Behavioral Health. Interns will have the opportunity to actively participate in program deliverables including direct education and/or community-based projects that address policy, system or environmental changes, and/or public health.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of cultural competency
  • Ability to travel to multiple sites to provide services
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Social Work, Public Health, Health Education, Community Health or a related field
  • Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.

  • Facilitation and/or classroom training experience

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with facilitation of program deliverables.
  • Providing service to the following age populations: children, adolescents, adults, and senior citizens in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.
  • Maintaining professional relationships with community partners to ensure the successful delivery of programming.
  • Conduct research and compile data for reports and presentations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of programs and initiatives.
  • Support outreach efforts to raise awareness about public health issues in the community.
  • Participate in community events and health fairs to promote education and services.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop educational materials and resources for various audiences.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, organizing files, and managing databases.
  • Assist with program evaluation and data analysis to assess the effectiveness of interventions.
