About The Position

Interns will be involved in a variety of engineering related activities performed in support of design, construction or maintenance of state highway construction projects. Interns will further their knowledge and abilities in the civil engineering field. Specific duties may include participating on survey crew, materials testing, project inspection, data collection and verification, or other engineering related activities. Duties are primarily performed outdoors and are physical in nature.

Requirements

• Must be a current part-time or full-time student (minimum of 6 credit hours)
• Must have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program by the start of the internship
• Preference may be given to junior/senior standing students
• Preference may be given to South Dakota residents and students of South Dakota institutions

Responsibilities

• Participate on survey crew
• Conduct materials testing
• Perform project inspection
• Collect and verify data
• Engage in other engineering related activities

• Minimum Salary: $22.19 (Non-Engineering Students)
