About The Position

TYLin is looking for a Transportation/Traffic Engineering Intern to join our New York office for the Summer of 2026. As an intern on our City Solutions Team, you'll gain the opportunity to immerse yourself in diverse infrastructure projects. Requirements

  • Working towards a Transportation or Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Urban Design, or Public Policy Undergraduate Degree or related Graduate Program
  • Interest or knowledge of transportation engineering/planning practices
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required
  • Familiarity with traffic operations software (Synchro/SimTraffic, VISSIM, HCS), Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign), ArcGIS, drafting software (AutoCAD, MicroStation), data analytics and automation (Python, database management, automated reporting)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site visits, field observations to gather data and provide research
  • Perform traffic, pedestrian, parking and safety analyses Use software to aid project analyses and make informed recommendations
  • Engage with the public and stakeholders to gather input and provide updates
  • Create and develop maps, reports, presentations, and graphics
  • Communicate effectively in both oral and written forms, including the development of maps, reports, presentations, and graphics
  • Contribute to problem-solving efforts to address project-related issues
  • Draft and finalize detailed reports summarizing findings and recommendations
