About The Position

As an AME OPS Trade and Customs Intern, you will…. The Trade & Customs Intern will support the Americas Trade & Customs team by reviewing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and developing process maps for the team’s five most critical processes—HS classification, Section 232 tariff management, compliance audits, duty drawback, and import documentation. The intern will also conduct a side-by-side comparison of import guidance across key markets, identifying differences in governing authorities, duty and tax structures, payment methods, and documentation requirements. Working closely with team members, the intern will help identify process improvements and create clear visual documentation to support training. This role offers hands-on experience in global trade compliance, exposure to customs regulations, and insight into how a multinational retail organization manages complex import operations.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the U.S. without restrictions.
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university as a rising junior or senior at the time of application.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, International Business, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or Industrial and Systems Engineering
  • Strong interest in gaining hands-on experience in a corporate environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented setting.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or other relevant tools preferred.
  • Eagerness to learn, adapt, and contribute to meaningful projects.
