Join us at Landis+Gyr, where we manage energy better! Landis+Gyr is seeking a Tools Software Development Intern for Summer 2026 to work on-site fulltime hours Monday through Friday at our Lafayette, IN location. This is a paid internship but we don't provide housing assistance or relocation so will be considering local applicants.   Project Overview/Job Description:   Opportunity for a Software Development candidate to learn and use real world development skills and receive an introduction into the energy domain.  The candidate will use multiple technologies including C#, Java, Angular, Visual Studio, GitLab, and related technologies to help create proof-of-concept applications for web-based reading and reporting of electrical meter data.

Requirements

  • Interest in Software development
  • Self-motivated to learn new technology.
  • Enthusiastic about online research and problem solving.
  • Education or experience in at least one of Java or .Net C# development.
  • Willingness to work on real-world automation projects in the energy domain
  • Strong problem-solving and online research skills

Responsibilities

  • Create and enhance code under the guidance of an experienced team.
  • Write and enhance unit tests for test driven development.
  • Perform functional tests with the resulting applications with electrical meters.
  • Analyze and fix defects discovered in testing.
  • Work with Docker containers and yaml pipeline scripts to create or maintain CI/CD builds in GitLab.
  • Collaborate with the team to log, track, and update defects in Azure DevOps (ADO), ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Contribute from the experience gained to inform future development paths for Landis+Gyr software.
