About The Position

At Ayar Labs, the industry leader in Optical I/O, our goal is to provide our customer with known-good chiplets that allow them to surpass the package-to-package and rack-to-rack communication bottlenecks in the datacenter. In the Product and Test Engineering team, we work to develop new screening methods and hardware to ensure our parts meet rigorous customer expectations. Our team is currently seeking a self-motivated undergraduate or graduate intern to design and bring-up hardware to characterize the optical subcomponents in our TeraPHY chiplet. This individual will partner with a senior member of the engineering team to learn about our product and design a test setup to improve our understanding of its key optical parameters.

Requirements

  • Actively pursuing a Master's Degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent
  • Strong programming skills in Python
  • Prior experience working with optical instrumentation (i.e. power monitors, tunable lasers, positioners, VOAs)
  • Candidates are expected to be self-motivated and independent individuals who can drive project completion and message their resource needs

Responsibilities

  • Design and bring-up hardware to characterize the optical subcomponents in our TeraPHY chiplet
  • Design a test setup to improve our understanding of its key optical parameters
