We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented summer intern to join our Model Based Design Controls Engineering team. As an intern you will develop and verify critical automotive control systems, including Powertrain Control Systems, Active Chassis Systems and Torque Controller.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of Simulink/Model-Based Design
  • Familiarity with MATLAB, C/C++, or Python
  • Exposure to software testing concepts and version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Field(s) of study: Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automotive Engineering, or a related field
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program at an accredited university.
  • Proof of enrollment in current or into next program (MS)

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of ISO 26262
  • Ability to write scripts in Python or MATLAB for automating test workflows and data analysis
  • Control Systems: Basic understanding of control theory and its application in automotive systems

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing unit tests based on software requirements.
  • Help create Simulink test harnesses and design basic positive/negative test cases.
  • Support MIL/SIL/PIL testing under supervision.
  • Participate in software integration testing, focusing on validating component interactions.
  • Learn and apply modeling guidelines and best practices.
  • Contribute to automated regression testing efforts.
  • Maintain documentation of test results and observations.
  • Attend team meetings and collaborate on process improvements.
