Perform entry-level work within a technical science and engineering environment working in conjunction with Sandia staff on interdisciplinary projects that involve applying integrated technical judgment-which requires using critical thinking skills and the scientific method to recognize and formulate problems, to collect data through observation and experimentation, and to formulate and test hypotheses about the uses and deployment of advanced technologies in support of US nonproliferation and nuclear security goals. On any given day, the student intern will need to: Use advanced research methods, perform critical thinking activities, and synthesize and analyze complex source material. Other project tasks will be dependent on successful candidate qualifications and experience. Specific projects may include technical content assembly and digital design for touchscreen panels in the Technology Demonstration Area. Due to the nature of the projects, the successful candidate will need to be on-site.
