System Engineering Intern- Irvine, CA (100% onsite) At Panasonic Avionics Corporation, interns play a meaningful role in driving innovation and shaping the future of inflight entertainment. Our paid internships run 100% on-site from May/June through August/September, and all candidates must be actively enrolled students during the program. Requirements

  • Willingness to learn systems engineering tools and processes
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP protocol
  • Knowledge of one or more software simulation tools such as IBWave
  • Undergraduate senior, or graduate student - Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or Systems Engineering.
  • Experience in Python, Linux, and coding skills
  • Resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
  • Apply existing practices and procedures to analyze situations or data
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others, take verbal and written instructions and communicate them as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Priority given to candidates with experience in MATLAB, Wireshark, Ethereal or other Networking analysis tool
  • Priority given to candidates with knowledge of wireless communication technologies, e.g., o Wi-Fi o Bluetooth o Cellular o Satellite communications
  • Priority given to candidates with experience in lab testing and knowledge of lab equipment such as packet sniffer, spectrum analyzer, digital multimeter.

Responsibilities

  • The intern will learn about the inflight entertainment and connectivity systems.
  • The intern will use industry software tools such as Jira, JAMA, and Confluence.
  • The intern will contribute to the development of aircraft cabin wireless simulation
  • create models for different aircraft types and cabin environments
  • simulate Wi-Fi and Bluetooth performance
  • validate simulation data results by comparing with measured data
  • build a Raspberry-Pi based RF power meter for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth testing
  • Develop software or automation scripts depending on their progress and experience
