In office Monday – Friday, with potential on-site visits to other GTA offices/stores Join Our Team: The Supply Chain Continuous Improvement/Engineering team is a small group of passionate engineers and analysts that help drive both short term and long term growth and value within our supply chain. We are actively involved in designing layouts & processes for new sites and helping existing sites gain capacity and efficiency. The team is very analytical and detail oriented, while being creative at the same time to provide recommendations working closely with several cross-functional teams nationally across Canada. Our projects can range from as large as opening a new distribution centre, rolling out national processes to as small as figuring out how to handle a single SKU through our network, but all have a measurable impact on our customers, fellow associates, and our shareholders! Job Summary: The Continuous Improvement Intern will help identify process gaps and implement new processes and optimization strategies to reduce costs and friction in our network, drive innovation and help us Grow the Pro. The focus will be on initiatives that will help increase productivity and capacity in our network. Key task for this upcoming spring/summer will be to continue increasing the conveyor penetration of product flowing through our RDCs, to drive productivity and reduce lead time. The intern will help create and distribute project updates on the same and reporting on key performance metrics to drive meaningful actions. Other tasks will include participating in new automation process pilots at the SFCs, time studies within our DCs, seasonal slotting optimization. The successful candidate will understand business analysis, data science, problem solving skills, a quick learning ability, as well as great communication and collaboration skills.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree or diploma in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Data Analytics
  • Proficient with Excel
  • Any experience working with data in SAP/WMS, ERP systems ideal
  • Fundamental knowledge of supply chain
  • Strong communication, taking initiative, team player
  • The successful student will be currently enrolled in a Canadian accredited university or college throughout the period of the Internship/Co-op program.
  • In addition, you must be legally entitled to work in Canada by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid study/work permit.
