As a result, we have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineering Intern to join our Hardware Quality Engineering team in Orangeburg, NY. This role is 100% onsite, and candidates must be commutable to Orangeburg, NY. Crestron Interns and Co-Ops can expect to be challenged with meaningful projects and tasks alongside professionals and subject matter experts in the field. Interns and Co-Ops are assigned a dedicated mentor who will be responsible for their development and acclimation to the company. Crestron will also provide a variety of training and networking opportunities to participants in the program, seeking to present participants with a comprehensive experience that enhances technical and non-technical skill sets and to prepare students for their professional careers. Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including materials, mechanics, and thermodynamics.
  • Familiarity with electronic or electromechanical assemblies and component operation.
  • Exposure to common test and measurement equipment (e.g., thermal chambers, force gauges, programmable power supplies, oscilloscopes, data loggers).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Experience with basic data analysis, including organizing, interpreting, and presenting test results.
  • Responsible, self‑motivated, and committed to producing high‑quality work.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal) with the ability to articulate technical information clearly.
  • \Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to learn new concepts independently.
  • Curious and eager to learn, with an interest in developing engineering skills through hands‑on experience.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple assignments, and stay organized in a fast‑paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with reliability, environmental, or stress testing concepts is a plus.
  • Comfort with hands‑on lab work, equipment setup, and experimental procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing reliability and compliance test requirements and test plans for new products.
  • Support engineers and lab technicians with setup, execution, and documentation of reliability tests and compliance tests.
  • Review test data and produce lab reports, and participate in discussions with engineering teams to understand results and root‑cause findings.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of quality reliability specifications, including research on industry standards and best practices.
  • Assist in analyzing field failure trends and recreating test scenarios to support corrective‑action efforts.
  • Participate in lab safety activities and help maintain test equipment, including setup, calibration, and general upkeep.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the engineering team.
