About the position
The Summer Lab Internship Program at Quest Diagnostics provides students with hands-on experience in clinical and toxicology laboratory environments. Interns will engage in a variety of laboratory tests and process improvement projects, applying their academic knowledge in a real-world setting.
Responsibilities
- Work with whole laboratory specimens to perform a wide range of tests.
- Apply manual lab procedures and techniques using state-of-the-art instruments.
- Participate in process improvement projects within the laboratory.
- Gain exposure to Immunology and Toxicology areas of laboratory work.
- Learn modern lab technologies and principles such as Capillary Electrophoresis and HPLC-Mass Spectrometry.
Requirements
- Completed Junior Year in a four-year baccalaureate program in medical laboratory science, chemistry, human biology, microbiology, molecular biology, molecular genetics, or another human biomedical science-related field.
- A minimum of 90 credit hours from an accredited institution with a 3.0 or better overall GPA.
- Completed coursework must include 15 hours of Biology, 15 hours of Chemistry, and 3 or more hours in Math.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in laboratory settings or coursework related to laboratory techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
