About The Position

As a member of the Strategic Payment Relationships (SPR) – Provider Enrollment team, the Intern will support payer enrollment and network management activities. This role provides hands-on exposure to healthcare administration functions related to payer networks, provider data management, and operational analysis while supporting the organization’s reimbursement and access strategies. Currently enrolled Master of Health Administration (MHA) student highly desired.

Requirements

  • Education: Two years of high school required. Some internships may require a bachelor's degree; or enrolled in and nearing completion of an undergraduate degree or terminal degree in a field relevant to the internship
  • Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Clinical interns may be required to be enrolled in an accredited professional program (e.g., pharmacy, nursing, allied health) and meet regulatory or licensure-related requirements.
  • Ability to work efficiently, manage time wisely, and follow policies and procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative, professionalism, and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Assignments that use chemicals or power tools require intern to be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with provider enrollment, revalidation, and maintenance activities for payer networks, including data review and documentation support.
  • Supports analysis and reconciliation of provider enrollment data across internal systems and external payer platforms to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintains and validates provider demographic, credentialing, and participation data used for payer network management and reimbursement activities.
  • Performs basic data analysis related to payer enrollment status, network participation, and operational performance metrics.
  • Prepares reports, spreadsheets, and project summaries to support Provider Enrollment and Strategic Payment Relationships initiatives.
  • Collaborates with Provider Enrollment, SPR, Credentialing, Revenue Cycle, and other internal stakeholders to support cross-functional workflows.
  • Participates in assigned projects designed to improve efficiency, data integrity, or operational processes within Provider Enrollment.
  • Meets regularly with an assigned Manager or Mentor to review progress, discuss learning objectives, and receive guidance and feedback.
  • Consistently delivers excellent customer service while demonstrating respect, professionalism, and collaboration in interactions with internal partners, providers, and external payer representatives.
