About The Position

Lightpath is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our team. This internship will provide valuable hands-on experience in various aspects of accounting and finance. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, proactive, and has a strong interest in pursuing a career in accounting or finance.

Requirements

• Current enrollment in an accredited Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Prior internship or work experience in accounting or finance is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with testing for Oracle financial Migration.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including processing invoices, reconciling statements, and managing vendor/customer inquiries.
• Support the month-end close process by preparing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and assisting with financial statement analysis.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Assist with audit preparations and provide support during external audits.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency within the finance department.
• Perform ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned by the accounting team.
