As a Software Engineer Intern at Verint, in the Fraud and Security Solution business unit, you will play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of our hardware products and supporting tools. Your responsibilities will include maintaining tools, maintaining hardware, coding and testing. You will ensure these components meet stakeholder specifications and adhere to organizational standards. In this role, you will work in a Linux environment using different scripting languages like Bash Shell scripting or TCL but also be exposed to real time embedded C/C++ code powering our line of EdgeVMS video recorder. Your contributions will be integral to the functionality and success of our hardware/software solutions. This role will be a hybrid role, where the intern will be in the office a few days a week, and then work remotely a few days a week as well.

Requirements

  • Work towards a bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering or related field
  • 0 - 1 year experience in design and software/script programming
  • Ability to manage individual priorities with strong time management skills
  • Be inquisitive, open-minded, enjoy learning about new technologies and demonstrate the ability to see a project through to completion
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Basic experience with any combination of the following: Generic Linux experience or Linux terminal experience, Programming or scripting languages such as Bash Shell, TCL, Python, C/C++, Knowledge of networking protocol like TCP/IP, UDP/IP, HTTP(S), TLS, GIT, JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Office products

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the improvements of the development process and associated tools
  • Maintaining, tuning, and repairing applications to keep them performing according to technical and functional specifications
  • Assist in designing, modifying, testing C/C++ software applications in various Linux systems
  • Contribute to definition of component and product architecture
  • Write high-quality, standardized code and unit tests
  • Support and/or install software applications or hardware equipment
  • Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, and test execution
  • Escalate urgent issues to management
  • Communicate design, reliability, and maintenance problems to appropriate internal resources
  • Research new technologies to improve product
