We’re looking for eligible students to join Hitachi Rail! Hiring for May 2026 through August 2026. Mission: Assist in the design of wayside interlocking circuits in accordance with established design principles, procedures, and specifications. Assist in programming wayside microprocessor devices in accordance with interlocking rules and all related specifications.

Requirements

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills and ability to communicate complex technical information
  • Strong relevant technical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Display excellent time management & organizational skills
  • Display problem solving and analytical skills to provide optimal solutions
  • Current Engineering student at a 4-year university with a graduation date between December 2026 and December 2027.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with software signaling logic, including troubleshooting, debugging software
  • Demonstrate competency in programming fundamentals, DC/AC circuit design and analysis & Digital Logic design

Responsibilities

  • Prepare project and design documentation.
  • Assist with test setup and testing of wayside systems.
  • Follow established design principles, procedures and specifications as detailed for proper programming of microprocessor devices.
  • Assist in developing cost estimates for project bids
