This position will support our EIC Engineering team as a Summer Intern from May 2025 - August 2025, and will be based at one of Manufacturing facilities and travel to other sites based on project need. This is a paid, full time Internship. The selected candidate will report to the Regional Engineering Manager - EIC, and will support multiple facilities and controls projects. In this position you will have the opportunity to: Learn the process of manufacturing Engineered Wood products. Gain exposure to the one or more of the following fields within wood manufacturing industry: Process Engineering, Process Controls and Automation, Maintenance & Reliability, & Industrial Engineering. Develop or assist in the development of capital projects per LP's CPMS process. Develop scope, schedule, budget, and forecasted spends. Upload into LP's Capital Planning software for approvals. If time permits, intern will execute a portion of the project work. The project will be pre-determined and appropriate for intern's abilities. Review and update plant/facility drawings as required per project requirements. Participate in mentoring opportunities from engineering and production staff.

  • Gain exposure to fields such as Process Engineering, Process Controls and Automation, Maintenance & Reliability, and Industrial Engineering.

  • Upload project details into LP's Capital Planning software for approvals.
  • Execute a portion of the project work if time permits.
  • Review and update plant/facility drawings as required per project requirements.
  • Participate in mentoring opportunities from engineering and production staff.
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program, preferably in Engineering.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, & AutoCAD.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
