About The Position

At Renesas, we design, develop and manufacture leading-edge semiconductor solutions for our customers. Our team is looking to modernize and transform the way we approach automation in our manufacturing processes. We are seeking a motivated and driven computer science student to join us for a summer internship, where you will have the opportunity to apply your skills in Semiconductor factory automation to real-world manufacturing challenges. This position is onsite Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm in Palm Bay, FL. Job Description: As a Summer Intern at Renesas, you will be working alongside a team of engineers to develop semiconductor factory automation-driven solutions that enhance automation in our manufacturing systems. You will gain hands-on experience in applying Semiconductor factory automation techniques to improve processes such as quality control, production optimization, and resource management.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks and libraries.
  • Experience with data analysis and machine learning model development.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A strong interest in semiconductor factory automation applications in industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • US Person due to ITAR requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of automation systems in a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to understand current manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for semiconductor factory automation implementation.
  • Assist in the design, development, and deployment of semiconductor factory automation and algorithms to automate and optimize production systems.
  • Support the integration of semiconductor factory automation tools into existing manufacturing systems and workflows.
  • Conduct data analysis to assess the performance of semiconductor factory automation and recommend improvements.
  • Document and present findings to the team.
