The Risk & Compliance Intern will support Liliʻuokalani Trust’s Risk & Compliance Department’s daily activities while gaining hands-on, meaningful experience across key functional areas including compliance, contracts and agreement, and policies and procedures. As part of Liliʻuokalani Trust’s summer internship cohort, the Risk & Compliance Intern will have opportunities to learn alongside peers from across the organization, build professional skills, deepen cultural understanding, and gain exposure to Liliʻuokalani Trust’s programs, functions, and contributions to the community. Learning Objectives By the end of the internship, the Risk & Compliance Intern will have opportunities to: Develop foundational understanding of organizational risk and compliance functions by observing and supporting policy, contract, and safety related activities within Liliʻuokalani Trust. Apply research and analytical skills to real-world scenarios by reviewing industry standards, best practices, and internal documentation to support policy and procedure development. Build professional communication and documentation skills through drafting, reviewing, and organizing policies, procedures, and supporting materials. Gain exposure to decision-making and risk evaluation processes by assisting with cost/benefit analyses and understanding how organizational policies are assessed and implemented. Strengthen cultural awareness and professional identity by learning how Hawaiian values, Queen Liliʻuokalani’s legacy, and Liliʻuokalani Trust’s mission are integrated into daily operations and risk-informed decision-making.
