Position Overview Retail Pharmacy Support Services is a dynamic and engaging team in the Pharmacy RBU that plays a pivotal role in the success of Publix Pharmacy. The Retail Pharmacy Support Services Intern will be responsible for reviewing data obtained by the Pharmacy Support Desk and Audit Team to identify opportunities specific to a particular application, subject matter area, geographical area, etc. The intern will assist in updating reference materials, creating new processes and/or improving current processes to address any identified deficiencies. What you’ll do Self-study existing Pharmacy programs, services and products Perform in-depth analysis of phone and email tickets handled by the Pharmacy Support Desk Review pharmacy audit results to identify trends and opportunities Assist in proposing and implementing new policies and procedures that improve operational efficiency and/or compliance Assist other teams in the pharmacy RBU with various critical projects such as the development of a comprehensive Third-Party Billing Guide

Requirements

  • must be an actively enrolled student not graduating prior to the start of the Summer Internship Program in May; or if graduating from a bachelor's degree program prior to the start of the internship, starting a graduate degree program in the upcoming summer or fall semester; or if graduating from a master’s degree program prior to the start of the internship, starting a graduate degree program in the upcoming summer or fall semester)
  • must be pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree in pharmacy, business, data analytics, health sciences, or related field and be a current sophomore or above (rising junior or above as of the program start in Summer 2026) or a graduate student
  • basic experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • possess presentation skills
  • must be interested in data analysis and interpreting data
  • have a background in pharmacy or healthcare

Nice To Haves

  • current or previous Publix associate
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern
  • general healthcare knowledge including insurance claims processing and/or Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM)
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
