About The Position

This position is responsible for monitoring the performance of geothermal production and injection wells, performing reservoir engineering analysis on operating and developing geothermal fields, monitoring and analyzing production well pump performance, and designing and supervising well tests and logs.

Requirements

• Must have completed or be working toward a degree in engineering or earth sciences.
• Must be able to use and acquire knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation.
• Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and use of the Internet.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English at a level which will permit the employee to accurately understand and communicate information to safely and efficiently perform the job duties.

Responsibilities

• Monitor performance and production of injection wells in assigned fields on a regular basis.
• Identify issues and opportunities for improvement.
• Perform reservoir engineering analysis including well test analysis, wellbore simulation, and numerical modeling.
• Supervise well tests, logs, and other diagnostic procedures. Analyze and report on test results.
• Assist in the specification, commissioning, monitoring, troubleshooting, and failure analysis of production well Lineshaft Pump (LSP) and Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) systems.
• Help maintain the quality and completeness of Ormat’s resource database and operating record.
• Work with project manager and field operations personnel to assure adequate and accurate resource data collection.
• Provide engineering assistance to drilling and field operations as needed.
