Research & Development HMI Design Intern [Human Machine Interface (HMI) Advanced Development] Course of Study Pursing a bachelor's or master's degree with a major in Ergonomics, Cognitive science, Cognitive engineering, Human-Machine Interaction, or any related UI/UX field. Term SUMMER PROGRAM 10-12 weeks (Mondays through Fridays; 37.5 hours per week) Internship to begin Monday, June 1, 2026 Location - NASI - 50255 Michigan Ave, Van Buren Township, MI 48111 $20 an hour (undergrad) Qualifications Current Juniors OR Seniors planning to pursue a Master's Degree OR students currently enrolled in a Master's Program Must be an active student for the entire length of internship At least 1 year of work experience Skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with all levels of the organization. Knowledge of human machine interfaces and interactions, cognitive science, or ergonomics is required. (If you are currently learning them in school, this is also acceptable.) Experience in conducting user research for design validation is required. Knowledge of psychology and/or generative AI is a plus. Knowledge of HMI prototyping tools, such as Figma or ProtoPie is a plus.
