To address the challenges of solid tumors, there is a need for CAR-T cells to express more than a single gene but achieving high expression of multiple genes simultaneously is challenging. The goal for this internship project is to gain a deeper understanding of the factors that impact gene expression in multi-cistronic lentiviral constructs. The individual will be responsible for evaluating the impact of cell engineering innovations on gene expression and in vitro function of multi-cistronic CAR-T cells. The intern will be trained in the standard lab techniques utilized by the group to manufacture, evaluate CAR-T cell function, and learn best practices for lab work and documentation. Once trained, the intern will be expected to work independently to design and perform experiments, analyze and interpret results and present their findings to the group.
